Description:
Mongolia is not just a land of endless steppe and snow capped mountains. The Selbe river, when it has water, flows from Handgait to the north of UB, through part of the city before joining the River Tuul to the south of the city. A large ger district has developed around the river, and in the flood plain of the river. People take their water from it, wash in it, and dump their rubbish near it. At the time of writing the Selbe has been dry for several months.
